Bill and Trav's Bogus Journey Tour ReviewSo last night was the concert and it was freakin fun. I went with 2 of my co-workers and then met up with a friend afterwards. I was getting irritated by a certain someone from the constant nagging of wanting to go home when she was clearly warned that we were staying after to wait by the busses.... Anyway, we got there pretty early, and Hey Monday was first. I am not too familiar with them, but they are pretty good, I just can't get into it for some reason. The only songs I remember them singing was Candles and Homecoming (in which none other than Mr. William Beckett came out to sing). Carolina Liar was next. If you haven't heard this band, you need to, they are amazing! They sang all my favorites including: Show Me What I'm Looking For, Coming to Terms, and ending with I'm Not Over. I was recording that song on my camera, and about 2/3 of the way through, a security guy came up to me and told me to "stop recording, pictures only." A lot of people throughout the night got yelled at too for recording, but I told myself and my friend that I am going to get a video of TAI no matter what. We The Kings was up next. They basically played their whole album, which was freakin sweet. They also did a cover song of the Gorillaz's Feel Good Inc. I personally can't stand the Gorillaz, but WTK did a great cover of it, mainly because it wasn't annoying and they rocked it out. They brought a different style to it which was what made the song amazing. We The Kings was probably the most interactive band of the night. They really talked to the audience on a more personal basis, which is what I love. Travis wanted everyone to know that Red heads are becoming extinct in about 80-90 years, so he wanted to "Save the Red Heads" and he even designed one of the shirts that they are selling on tour that says "I <3 Red Heads." Very cool!! Everyone was waiting for TAI of course. I liked their intro because they had a bit of the lighting effects going on with the music, so it was entertaining as everyone was screaming their head off waiting for them to go on stage. They opened up with Summer Love=Forever Young. What I loved about the concert was that they did a great mix of all 3 cds, and not just mainly focusing on the 3rd album alone. I guess people had talked to William beforehand and was complaining to him that it was cold outside (anything below 85 is freezing in Arizona) so he mentioned that during the show and he definitely heated things up to about 100 degrees, everyone was sweating crazy. William seemed to have some love for the mic stand, as he was throwing it and balancing it on his hand and flinging it and whatnot, basically the entire night. From Almost Here, they played Attention, Slow Down, The Phrase that Pays, and Classifieds. From Santi, they played LAX to O'Hare, We've Got a Big Mess on our Hands, Neighbors, Everything We Had, and my favorite, Seed. From Fast Times, they played About a Girl is/will be posted on my youtube page http://www.youtube.com/user/ImOkayNow , The Test (where the first half was acoustic played by William), Beware!Cougar!, After the last Midtown Show, and Coppertone. They closed the show with Checkmarks where everyone just went wild. After the show the guys from We The Kings and Carolina Liar came out to hang out by the merch table, but I missed it because we rushed out to the busses right afterwards. I asked my friend to get me a poster because I didn't have anything for them to sign. Michael Chislett was the first to come out, and he was really nice. He took the time to talk to everyone and he is a lot shorter than I thought, he's about 5'7", but nonetheless, nice. He signed my poster and we all got a picture with him. Mike Carden was next to come out. He's kinda short too, but still...nice. Same thing, got my poster signed, and picture. I didn't really talk to either one of them because I didn't know what to say...I regret it, and hate my lack of creativity to say anything. One of my co-workers got the nerve to ask Mike if and when the rest of the guys were coming out because she needed to be home by midnight (which irritated the frick out of me) and I found it to be rude to be inconsiderate to Mike like that. Travis came out for a bit afterwards, and he was sort of all over the place, but he had to go, so we didn't get a chance to talk to him. No one came out after that, but I'm glad I got to meet 2 out of the 5. I was really looking forward to meeting Sisky, he's always the entertaining one........next time! Pics up soon! and video of Carolina Liar and About a Girl
